City of Revere
We will touch base with all of our neighbors to make sure their concerns are being addressed while also continuing to communicate with them regarding the ongoing work and the ways that it may affect them. We speak to our neighbors often and are surprised to hear this feedback from your office.
We had one noise complaint this past week due to the windstorm loosening a piece of steel decking overnight – unfortunate but it was addressed immediately and I spoke with Building Inspector Hamdan on the matter later that day to confirm it was resolved. I also followed up with management at the Beach House who assured me that this was the only complaint and that they were satisfied with the immediate attention the issue received. I have not heard of any other noise complaints thus far.
I have heard feedback from one neighbor regarding vibrations who I have communicated with on a regular basis. We are digging foundations towards the North end of the site, there may be some vibrations that cannot be avoided for this work and I mentioned to the concerned neighbor that we have roughly 8 weeks left of this specific scope of work. We will continue to work within permitted hours and I have spoken to the operator to try and be a bit more strategic/careful with how he approaches his excavations.
As for the water disturbance, I am not sure I understand. We shut the water off to four residents on the North side of the site on March 6th. Residents were notified of this necessary water main connection 3 different times over a period of 2 weeks. The construction team personally knocked on doors of the four homes that would be affected, an official notice from the City of Revere 48 hours ahead of time was sent out and a final reminder was done the day of work. The work was completed within the allotted hours and we didn’t experience any issues or negative feedback. This week a 2nd connection was made to the water main and due to the prior tie-in and gate-valve install, no interruption in water service was experienced. This work was once again coordinated with the City of Revere Water and Engineering Departments as well as the State Police to provide a detail.
Nevertheless, we understand the construction’s impact on our neighbors, we will continue to be sensitive to the situation and respectful. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused for you and your office and we will strive to make sure these occurrences do not become regular.
